This Saturday, head to Sam Houston Park for Energy Day! Energy Day is Houston’s largest free family festival showcasing exhibits focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Energy Day features interactive demonstrations and exciting exhibits that introduce, teach, and showcase various forms of energy to students and their families. Exhibits range from hands-on demonstrations where attendees can see how an energy process works to small- and large-scale installations that kids can observe.
Academic awards handed out on Energy Day are part of the Energy Day Academic Program (EDAP). EDAP helps to amplify existing academic competitions and events through a series of unique, city and state-wide, STEM- and energy-related competitions that motivate, challenge, and inspire young minds to seek careers in STEM fields.
In 2011, with more people retiring from the STEM and energy industries, and the need for more advanced technology, it was clear that there was a need to bridge the gap between education, career adoption, and the STEM and energy industries. It was then that the Energy Day Festival was founded in Houston, Texas.
The Energy Day Festival was founded to provide outreach and educational support materials, events, activities, resources, and information about career opportunities in STEM and the various energy fields. Energy Day Festival stresses the importance of energy, conservation, and efficiency in our daily lives to schools, students, and their families. It’s truly an event you don’t want to miss!
Enjoy a free festival that the whole family will love at this year’s Energy Day! Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend. For more information about the festival and scheduled activities, please visit www.energydayfestival.org.
